Fun Fact - Insight Vol. 31

Did you know that UAW was one of the first unions to support The Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s?

The UAW President, Walter Reuther, was a close ally of Martin Luther King Jr. and helped organize the March in Washington in 1963, where King delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Reuther also spoke at the march and donated $50,000 to the cause. The UAW also supported the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Freedom Rides, and the Selma to Montgomery March.
